As our Project Manager - Material Engineer, you'll be instrumental in pioneering sustainable material solutions, balancing technical ingenuity with ecological responsibility, and propelling us towards our vision of a circular economy in the packaging industry

Your Role

We are seeking a Project Manager - Material Engineer to play a pivotal role in the ongoing development and implementation of new materials, technologies, and cost-saving initiatives. You will join a talented team of 6 within the Group Product Development & Compliance department, reporting directly to the Senior Director, Michael Lindholt. Your role will comprise:

• Lead material development projects, ensuring they align with Faerch's sustainability ambitions.
• Provide technical support and advice across the organization, contributing to the resolution of material-related issues to prevent production stops.
• Support recipe development for individual material platforms and assist the sales, quality, and regulatory teams with technical expertise.
• Ensure the success of implemented projects and explore secondary sourcing opportunities.
• Collaborate with Group Sustainability & External affairs on circular economy projects and support the procurement team in evaluating raw material suppliers.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry knowledge through conferences and courses.

Qualifications

• Degree in Material Engineering or Chemical Engineering or any related field
• How much experience you have is not as important as your drive and desire to work towards a sustainable future by creating true circularity in food packaging
• Proven ability to work with various stakeholders across different functions and countries.
• Fluent in Danish and English at a business level.
• Residency within commuting distance from Holstebro and ability to travel abroad for 10-20 days a year
• Knowledge or experience with polymer chemistry, preferably extrusion of PET and/or PP.
