Booking Coordinator for Steel House Copenhagen (Summer vacancy)

We are currently looking for a Booking Coordinator to join our team during the Summer 2024.

Steel House Copenhagen is one of the largest hostels in Europe with 1154 beds to fill every night. With a unique location overlooking the lakes in Copenhagen, and with a wide range of events and social facilities, Steel House Copenhagen offers everything a passionate traveller could wish for.

Is multitasking one of your superpowers?
When working at Steel House Copenhagen, you need to be comfortable taking ownership of many varied tasks. With a buzzy reception and a bar that can welcome up to 1,000 guests every day, your main task is to ensure that bottlenecks are eliminated and handled, and that your colleagues can focus on creating that unique atmosphere.
As a Booking Coordinator you will, among others, have the following tasks:

• Answering emails and phone calls (the phone rings a lot...)
• Helping guests make the right choice based on their needs and reason for staying with us
• Assign rooms and beds
• Handling and organising group enquiries
• Varying daily tasks in the booking department
• Ensuring guests are already looking forward to their stay before arrival.

The position is a fixed-term part-time position of 90 hours, from 1 June to 30 September 2024.

Structured people person with a passion for the service industry
First and foremost, we expect you to be good with people. You need to be able to understand each guest and make them feel comfortable - despite all the other tasks you also have. You'll often be the go-to person for your colleagues, thus you're a team player who loves to share your knowledge. You'll be the person who makes sure our guests are excited to arrive, so you must be passionate about being part of their experience at our hostel.

Furthermore, you have a passion for the service industry. We're not just here for the monetary transactions - we're here to create experiences and to be the place where people hang out and come back again.

We therefore expect you to:

• Have at least 2 years of experience working in a reception or a booking department
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken - and preferably a good knowledge of Danish as well. If you speak several other languages, that's an advantage. We love diversity!
• Be structured and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• be positive, outgoing and most importantly service-minded
• be a dynamic and energetic team player
• keep a cool head in busy situations and enjoy the hustle and busy situations
• be orderly, stable and the colleague everyone wants to work with
