The position
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic Biomarker Discovery and Qualification team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cell biology, with extensive hands-on experience in culturing primary human cells relevant for cardiometabolic diseases combined with a passion for translational research.
Your primary tasks will consist of, but are not limited to:
• Isolate, culture, and maintain primary human cells such as cardiomyocytes, hepatocytes, adipocytes, skeletal muscle cells and other relevant cell types.
• Design and execute experiments to investigate cellular mechanisms underlying cardiometabolic diseases.
• Perform advanced cell and molecular biology techniques, including cell viability assays, RNA/DNA extraction and qPCR.
• Analyze and interpret complex experimental data, presenting findings to teams.
• Develop, optimize, and validate laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
In addition you will also maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, managing inventory and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications
To qualify for the position, we envision that:
• You are a fully trained Laboratory Technician or Biomedical Laboratory Technician (in Danish: laborant eller bioanalytiker)
• You have several years of relevant experience.
• You have a strong drive, a quality mindset, and a talent for troubleshooting.
• You have great communication skills in Danish and English, both written and verbal, with the ability to discuss and present complex data.
• You have a user level knowledge to IT systems such as Excel and Word In addition, as a person you have a positive, curious, and collaborative mindset, and interpersonal skills that allow you to build fruitful relations with colleagues and stakeholders. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with a keen attention to detail are crucial for this role. About The Department
At the Biomarker Discovery & Qualification department, we discover and qualify TE, PoM and disease modulation biomarkers. We employ human in vitro / ex vivo systems and in vivo animal models as well as apply omics technologies to generate high-quality biomarker data to guide decision-making in research and early development. Currently, the department consists of 9 scientists and is part of the Translational Research VP area. Other departments in Translational Research include Biomarker Assay Development, Omics Technologies and Translational Imaging. Translational Research is part of Global Translation, an organisational area responsible for the application of translational approaches across all the therapy areas in Novo Nordisk. Our ambitious goal is to ensure early, data-driven decision-making in clinical trials by application of target engagement, proof-of-mechanism, and disease modulation biomarkers as well as enabling precision medicine.
