Compliance Specialist - Bibs

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Compliance Specialist to join our BIBS team. Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the Compliance Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet all relevant regulatory standards and requirements for all New Product Introductions (NPIs), including both the product and packaging.
This role will involve coordinating product testing with BV Test Lab, handling black PR cases, managing new market entries, and ensuring compliance with new retailer requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough reviews of product specifications, labeling, and packaging for all NPIs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for global Baby safety standards.
• Manage product testing with BV Test Lab, ensuring that all NPIs undergo comprehensive testing to meet regulatory standards and internal quality requirements throughout the development process.
• Work closely with big retailers to understand and meet their specific compliance requirements, ensuring that special request products meet all necessary standards for distribution.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Quality Assurance, and Sales to address compliance issues, implement solutions, and ensure alignment with company objectives.
• Sign off on any packaging, marketing, and advertising collateral to ensure it is compliance
• Create & develop a compliance resource library for sales to reference when they have questions.
• Support with black PR cases with the PR Team by investigating complaints or negative feedback related to product safety or compliance, implementing corrective actions as necessary, and ensuring timely resolution.
• Align with Sales on new market entries by researching and understanding regulatory requirements in target markets, coordinating with regulatory agencies and third-party consultants as needed, and preparing and submitting required documentation.
• Stay up-to-date on changes to relevant regulations and communicate implications to the product development team, providing guidance on compliance strategies for NPIs.
  

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in regulatory compliance within the consumer products industry, preferably with a focus on baby products.
• Experience with regulators and third-party laboratories, preferably with BV Test Lab is a plus.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data and regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Cross-Functional Understanding: Experience in buying, sales, or supply chain to comprehend the diverse compliance needs of different departments.
• Critical Thinking: Capacity to think abstractly and identify compliance implications within various business functions.
• Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate compliance requirements effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Skill in identifying compliance challenges and implementing solutions to mitigate risks.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of relevant laws and regulations pertinent to the organization's operations.
