Urban Designer

Gehl is hiring for a full-time Urban Designer position in our Copenhagen Office. You will be embedded within the design team of a leading global urban consultancy known for pushing the boundaries of what exceptional workplaces can be. The primary responsibility will be to use design skills, data analysis, and compelling storytelling to design urban spaces, future of retail, and public art strategies that support the development of equality, healthy and sustainable cities. Occasional work may be required at various project sites around the Middle East.

Experience needed

• Master’s degree in architecture
• Graphic skills, including layout of reports, illustrations and concept development

• Urban design, planning, architectural and/or human centered design background and working experience
• Fluent working proficiency in Arabic and knowledge of working with arabic clients
• Fluent working proficiency in English and ability to communicate in Danish

Candidates should show strong design and communication skills and ability to communicate ideas and concepts through clear diagrams and data visualisation woven cohesively into a compelling narrative. Candidates with interest in interdisciplinary practice, who recognise the contribution of social science, sociology, psychology, and other areas of urban design, will likely find added value in this role.
