We are looking for a “Contract Manager” to manage the interfaces between legal, commercial and technical aspects for a successful delivery.

About the project
The Capital Region of Denmark’s Centre for Real Estate is upgrading the Bispebjerg Hospital Campus with several capital projects. The new main hospital building project, New Hospital Bispebjerg, is approx. 77,000 m2 that is expected to be finished in 2029. The project also consists of operating theaters, endoscopy theaters, day surgery, radiology department, emergency department, patient rooms, clinics.

Core responsibilities

Overview:

The Contract Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of contracts and claims in the project, bringing together legal, commercial, and technical stakeholders. This role involves overseeing the contract development process, ensuring compliance with legal requirements. The Contract Manager is also responsible to help the project create an environment where disputes and claims are minimized through collaboration and proactivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement contract management strategies and plans.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts to ensure they are in alignment with project objectives and company policies.
  • Ensure all contracts are executed correctly and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and maintain records of all contracts and related documentation.
  • Provide guidance and training to project staff on contractual matters and compliance.

Changes and Claims Management:

  • In collaboration with the design and technical teams identify, assess, and implement changes, ensuring compliance with specifications and requirements.
  • In collaboration with the design and technical teams identify and assess any potential claims & disputes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation for changes and claims.
  • Develop and implement strategies on managing these with the best potential outcome for the wider project, including negotiation, mediation, or arbitration.
  • Prepare and present changes claims reports.

Risk Management:

  • Identify contractual and claims-related early-warnings, risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Advise management on potential legal implications of contract and claims issues.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with legal advisors, design & technical teams, and project managers to ensure coherent and consistent management of contracts, changes and claims.
  • Participate in meetings and negotiations with stakeholders to resolve disputes.

About you
Qualifications and experience:

  • Related degree in engineering, construction management, law or other.
  • Master’s degree in law or project/construction management is an advantage.
  • 5+ years of experience in contract management in the construction industry.
  • 5+ years of experience with AB contract suite. Experience with other standard form contracts (e.g. FIDIC) is an advantage.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing the technical scope (design & technical) & financial aspects of contracts.
  • Experience in working with public clients.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of construction laws, standards, and practices.
  • Advance levels of Danish and English language skills, including contract language
  • Anticipate risks and issues and take action to prevent them from turning into problems.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Collaboration with multiple stakeholders to reach consensus.
  • Collaboration and communication in an international project environment
  • Ability to analyze legal and contractual documents.
  • Ability to analyze financial aspects and scope (design & technical) aspects.

Salary and conditions for employment
The salary and conditions for the employment will be according to current trade agreements, with the possibility for negotiating supplements for qualifications.

The workplace is located at Bispebjerg Hospital, Bispebjerg Bakke, 2400 Copenhagen NV.

Working hours are 37 hours per week.
