Your position

In your on-shore position as Automation Engineer in the Consulting Services team you will be a valuable member of a dedicated team whose mission is to support our clients to achieve success in their energy projects within energy infrastructure, oil & gas, offshore wind, and Power-to-X.

Your place of work will be either at our Global HQ located in Esbjerg or at one of our locations in Copenhagen, Poland or UK.

The position is full-time and 10 - 50 travel days per year offshore and onshore to clients should be expected.

The set-up

You will be hired as a [xxxxx] employee and work in a team dedicated to one of our national or international clients.

Your tasks & responsibilities

As an Automation Engineer your tasks and responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:
  • Design, develop, and implement automation systems specifically for the oil and gas sector.
  • Analyse and optimize existing systems to improve performance and reliability.
  • Prepare technical specifications and detailed documentation.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade automation equipment.
  • Specification of hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of interface protocols.
  • Prepare technical documentation such as design briefs, technical procurement specifications, design basis for control panel design, connection diagrams, wiring diagrams, signal lists, cable lists, equipment lists, etc., for control and automation-related delivery in accordance with internal and contract requirements.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure project deliveries on time and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Multidiscipline cooperation.
  • Design and engineering according to required international codes and standards.
  • Knowledge or interest in working with common database engineering software solutions (COMOS) for engineering of substations.
  • Participate in execution and sign-off of factory (FAT) and site (SAT) tests carried out with customers, aligned and according to the overall project plan.
  • Participation in concept development, optimization, and standardization of technical solutions.


The tasks will depend on the specific client's needs.

Your profile & qualifications

We are looking for experienced and result-driven Automation Engineer who are passionate about cyber security and wants to leave their personal mark on the tasks. You have proactive and organized approach to your work and are eager to contribute to our clients and your team's success.

To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with automation in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA systems, and HMI.
  • Experience with project management and customer interaction.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills at a professional level.
