The Professional Services team is looking for an Assistant Category Manager.

As Assistant Category Manager for Professional Services, you will work closely with our Category Managers to drive the development and implementation of category framework across all brands in Maersk. You will be a vital part of developing and implementing procurement and category strategies to support the ongoing transformation and growth journey in becoming the global integrator of container logistics:

Key Responsibilities

As Assistant Category Manager in the Professional Services team, you will be a trusted partner to business functions by building and leveraging strategic relationships, delivering best-in-class services to Maersk, and enabling fact-based decision-making. You will be part of ensuring that synergies are unlocked, procurement processes are developed and implemented, and external spending is optimized.

You will be part of a category family covering Legal, Finance and Engineering Services. You are expected to have a pragmatic mind, think strategically, and be open to execute different categories strategies.

You will work in close collaboration with the Category Managers to further maturing the category by developing and implementing new strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain close relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve Maersk’s ambitious strategies
  • Proactively owning assigned sub-categories
  • Create transparency and governance in our supplier landscape within the managed categories
  • Lead tender projects, negotiations, contracting and contract management
  • Handling day-to-day queries
  • Being up to date about the industry trends, technological advancements, and supplier capabilities
  • Be a key player in the overall strategic procurement development journey
  • Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing best practices

The ideal candidate has:

  • experience in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, and ideally have experience in Services Procurement in a larger organization.
  • some experience in contract management, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and overseeing procurement processes.
  • interest in learning how to develop and execute global category strategies.
  • strategic and commercial mindset
  • ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • it is a prerequisite that you are fluent in English.
