Laboratory Technician - Kiehn Lab, University of Copenhagen

We are looking for a highly motivated and independent Laboratory Technician with knowledge in neuroscience, molecular techniques, and laboratory operations.

Description of the research team:

Kiehn Lab at the Department of Neuroscience works with molecular, cellular and neurophysiological studies of the nervous system that control motor behavior in the normal and diseased brain. The research group is currently consisting of 10-12 group members at the University of Copenhagen. You can read more about Kiehn Lab here: [xxxxx]

Your job:

Specifically, your tasks will be purchasing of reagents and consumables, taking care of lab-environment, be primarily responsible for genotyping of mice, and contribute and support the ongoing research projects in the group on an ad hoc basis.

Qualifications:

Essential experience and skills

  • Laboratory technician degree
  • You are organized and have previous experience of experimental laboratories
  • Experience with procurement systems
  • You have in depth experience with genotyping of mice
  • You have experience in dealing with laboratory waste management and risk assessment protocols
  • You have a FELESA certification
  • You have a service-minded attitude
  • You have good English and Danish skills, written and spoken
  • Experience with tissue processing and histology

Terms of salary and employment:

The appointment is in accordance with the joint collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and OAO/HK STAT.

The position is a permanent, fulltime position and will be at the level of salary group 4, according to relevant experience and qualifications, and with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement. To this there is a monthly contribution to pension fund according to the collective agreement.
