The Siteimprove Product Operations team is responsible for optimizing the intersection of Product and Engineering. We support the Product Development department and our go-to-market counterparts in improving alignment, communications, team performance, and best practices in the product development lifecycle. We are currently seeking an experienced Localization Manager who champions localization and linguistic principles and methodologies, refines, and improves translation practices and processes in a Product & Development environment. The Localization Manager oversees and coordinates the adaptation of Si platform content to meet the linguistic, cultural, and regulatory requirements of Siteimprove s target markets, ensuring a seamless and culturally relevant user experience. The Localization Manager s responsibilities collectively ensure the effective management of localization processes and contribute to the successful global expansion of Siteimprove s products.

What you will be doing


  • Own and maintain Product & Development s translation process.
  • Serve as Siteimprove s linguistic expert and collaborate with language experts and translators to ensure accurate translation and localization of Si platform content.
  • Serve as the Product Owner for Siteimprove's localization tools by building and administering the systems, including providing best practices.
  • Serve as Siteimprove s Smartling super user and provide internal Smartling training and education to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the UX team to ensure a seamless user experience and address user interface considerations for diverse cultural preferences.
  • Develop and execute localization project plans and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of translation content.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and Agile Delivery Leads in identifying risks and proactively implementing mitigation strategies related to the delivery of translation content.
  • Provide regular updates on status and progress to key stakeholders in Siteimprove.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes for localized content.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and language service providers, including negotiation of contracts, and management of translation budgets.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What we will require of you


  • Degree in languages or translation.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar role, with knowledge about the language industry.
  • Experience with localization platforms, file formats, and CAT tools to manage translation workflows.
  • Fluent in English with the ability to review and edit English source texts.
  • Understanding of software localization (user interface copy) and translation (long copy documents).
  • Ability to multi-task, as well as having excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Well-versed in working in a global environment and strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Self-driven, results- and solutions-oriented.
