QA Engineer for Technology Platform Team

The Technology Platform Team in the Products department of [xxxxx] plays a pivotal role in delivering high performance, scalable, cloud-enabled components, services, and APIs that provide core product functionality based on our patented Virtual Tabulation technology. The correctness and performance of this functionality is critical for our customers and our SaaS offering.

Your role in the Technology Platform Team will be to help the team to plan, develop, and execute manual and automated tests and ensure that testing and other QA activities are aligned with project goals and priorities.

What you will do:

  • Develop performance benchmark frameworks for our compute-intensive C# components.

  • Create load testing scripts for our Web APIs using tools such as Grafana k6 and simulate real-world scenarios to assess system behavior under stress. Implement automated tests for complex scenarios.

  • Create reliability test plans and assess system stability, failure points and recovery mechanisms.

  • Take ownership of test strategies, including performance, reliability, quality, and security testing.

  • Develop data obfuscation tools to allow the product teams to test against real-world customer data without causing security concerns.

  • Integrate advanced techniques like mutation and concurrency testing into our workflows and CI/CD processes to ensure continuous quality assurance.

  • Coordinate efforts with QA engineers from other product teams to establish and improve QA processes, methodologies, tools, and metrics.


What you bring:

  • Several years of experience in software QA, including both manual and automated testing.
  • Solid knowledge about benchmarking to enhance the user experience and to lower SaaS costs.

  • Strong experience in test automation, including scripting and implementing automated tests for complex scenarios.

  • Experience in testing and optimizing cloud-based applications. Familiarity with cloud-native services and the ability to leverage them for performance improvements is a plus.

  • Experience in writing unit and performance tests in C# or similar and implementing automated testing strategies.

  • Ability to analyze complex systems, diagnose issues, provide effective solutions, and contribute to the resolution of critical issues in high-performance software environments.

  • Experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, taking a proactive role in driving improvements in QA processes and methodologies
