With a direct reference to our Vice President IT, you will become part of our internal IT organization, consisting of 70+ dedicated colleagues who enables [xxxxx] employees globally in their daily work. Our goal in IT is to be a business enabler, which has led us to acquire agile methodologies based on SCRUM principles, and furthermore grow towards becoming more commercially minded. This is where you come into the picture as our new License Manager – by entering a leading role managing our IT license portfolio in close co-operation with our corporate sourcing function in [xxxxx]. We have a widespread application landscape, and one of the first important tasks would be to make a strategy to consolidate and optimize the cost base for this entire landscape.

A job with focus on managing a global IT license portfolio
In the position as License Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing licensing strategies for IT related products in line with [xxxxx]’s business objectives. Your daily tasks will be leading and optimizing our entire IT license portfolio by overseeing and optimizing licensing spending, managing applications and services, request proposals, manage quotes, and invitations to bid in collaboration with our sourcing team.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and continuous development of a strategy for IT related products
  • Monitoring and optimization of license agreements, including cost control of maintenance costs
  • Negotiation of new license agreements in close cooperation with our corporate sourcing function
  • Elaborating seat price benchmarking for new or existing IT applications by understanding needs and potentials
  • Ensuring compliance and high security across the license portfolio in close cooperation with the Enterprise Cyber Security team


Personality matters
We expect you have an educational background within economics, business, computer science, or comparable, as well as comprehensive understanding of IT and technology, software licensing and related laws and regulations. You have a proven track record of successfully and proactively managing licenses, including monitoring, negotiation, reporting and compliance. It is a requirement, that you have profound license management experience with Microsoft products including Azure.

As a person, you are proactive, reflective and make deliberate decisions, while applying these abilities to highlight opportunities and pitfalls in the license portfolio. Others recognize this as your strong analytical approach. You remain calm in situations with divergent opinions, always keep your eyes on the goal while being persistent until you reach a satisfying result. Your colleagues naturally seek you out for sparring and idea generation, and you build trust-based relationships that foster collaboration and knowledge sharing. This is furthermore an advantage , when you negotiate with both current and new partners, allowing you to discover solutions that are advantageous for all.

It is a requirement that you are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
