Job Summary

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for planning and organizing the housekeeping in a specific hotel in accordance with [xxxxx]´s standards and guidelines. The Housekeeping Manager is also responsible for staffing, scheduling, training, and developing employees and methods and always assuring the highest quality.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Hotel

  • Manage the daily activities of the housekeeping department, including appropriate cleaning of all rooms, floors, lobbies, restrooms, restaurants, outdoor areas and all other public spaces in the hotel according to [xxxxx]’s standards and guidelines.
  • Conduct inspections of all areas daily, specifically prior to events held at the hotel.
  • Ensures the proper maintenance of all equipment; plan for repair and/or replacement of used and damaged equipment.
  • Purchase, re-order and maintain housekeeping supplies and inventory.
  • Coordinating housekeeping needs with executive housekeeping manager and Hotel Manager.
  • Ensure Plants are cheeked and keep Guldsmeden the greenest hotel.
  • Monthly invoice split the hours.
  • Weekly report of accomplished and future tasks, cost, challenge, negative and positive.
  • Report Corrective and preventive action for complaints.

Budget

  • Based on targeted hours, Comply with budget and report inconsistencies

Employee

  • Planning, organizing, and directing employees to ensure the highest degree of guest satisfaction.
  • Daily supervision of the housekeeping staff, including housemen, night shift, turndown- and spa staff
  • Ensure employees adhere to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct.
  • Recruit, schedule, and train all new housekeeping staff members.
  • Determine and maintain the work schedule (Planday)
  • Ensure proper preparation and staffing for each “event/conference.”
  • Help ensure the highest quality of service delivery for our guests.
  • Ensure sick leave is covered.
  • Managing employees through motivation, coaching and development.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of safety standards.
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs, change goals and direction quickly and multitask.
  • Advanced knowledge of housekeeping process and procedures.
  • Performing cleaning tasks when staff is on leave, or the team is otherwise shorthanded.
  • Ability to maintain a budget.
  • Excellence in customer service
  • Capable of using independent judgement/solid decision-making skills.
  • Proven comfort and experience to interact effectively with all levels of management, guests, associates, and clientele, both inside and outside of the organization
  • Activator/self-motivated to accomplish goals, with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Be reliable, show diligence, dedication and pay attention to details.
  • Sound organizational, coordinating and interface skills.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably Danish.
  • Proficiency with general office PC applications (i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
  • Must be flexible regarding working nights, weekends, Spa and holidays.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the same field.
