Accountant (Maternity Leave Cover)

The Finance team in [xxxxx] plays an important role in terms of supporting the business and the continued growth of the company. Right now, we are looking for a maternity leave cover (12 months) for one of our team members.

The new employee will primarily be working with and be responsible for their own 2 entities in Germany & US. Salary for those are handled by other people but otherwise its accounting from A-Z for those companies, including month closure reconciliations. And helping the rest of the accounting team with vendor procurement of the group and co-responsible for helping out the team with varius requests from internal & external stakeholders.

You will be reporting to the Head of Finance and Accounting and become part of the Accounting team, currently consisting of 2 other members.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for their own 2 entities in Germany & US. General Ledger and the Creditor ledger including bookkeeping, monthly accruals, bank-movements, vendors, loans, and other related actions.
  • Vendor Invoice approvals.
  • Expense bookings & payments
  • Assisting in answering queries from the organization
  • Monthly reconciliations of the part of the GL for the 2 entities
  • Main in preparing the material for German Annual Report
  • Taking active part in month-end and year-end process
  • Booking of German salary in close collaboration with HR and external consultants
  • Shared responsability for the accounting mailbox
  • Handling other inquiries from the business, vendors, customers etc.
  • Supporting the annual budget process

What you bring:

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance such as HD(R) or similar or alternatively you have the practical experience needed.
  • Some years of experiences from a similar role
  • Deadline-oriented
  • A strong team player, yet able to work independently
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong IT-skills, including experience with Excel (Microsoft Office) and ERP-systems
  • Fluent in Danish and English both written and spoken (our Group language is English)
