To achieve this goal, there is a strong need to decarbonise logistics at every stage. It is important not only for Maersk to achieve these sustainability goals but for the customers too, who are demanding environmentally friendly solutions that would decarbonise their supply chains. To achieve our goal, we need to lead the way - also when it comes to our transportation assets like trucks and vans.

Demand for Maersk’s ECO Delivery product continues year-on-year growth, with 200+ current customers, and so does the demand for green trucking solutions with several EV projects already being delivered. Therefore, we are looking for a professional with a strong technical and commercial mindset, ideally with experience within the heavy vehicle industry or procurement, to develop and roll out our transportation asset strategy of the future. If you are passionate about asset strategy, category management, partnership building and finding new solutions to complex problems, then this role may be the right match for you.

Responsibilities:

• Identify, qualify, and establish global partnerships with market leaders for Transportations Assets (Electric Trucks, Vans and other relevant asset types) and the relevant infrastructure enabling electrical trucking to become a long-term success.
• Executing Transportation Assets procurement strategies globally while ensuring that global contracts are implemented locally meeting standardization requirements, go live dates and budgets.
• Assist on the development and implementation of a global procurement policy and guidelines for transportation assets.
• Lead negotiations for new investments in compliance with the procurement guidelines and policies
• Keeping abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and supplier capabilities to make informed decisions during the procurement process.
• Fleet rationalization for existing sites ensuring leverage, total cost of ownership optimization and asset life cycle management.
• Driving the sustainability agenda, like electrification of fleet, new innovative power sources et al to ensure that our goal of decarbonizing logistics is progressing and is on track

We are looking for:

• A passionate transportation or logistics industry expert or a strong category management profile with an open and ambitious mindset, and a self-starter attitude
• Comfortable working in a complex, global, and fast-moving environment with colleagues and team members based in global locations.
• A relationship and credibility builder and strong stakeholder management skills. Ability to connect and work across functions and disciplines and engage with all levels of organization
• Excellent communication skills, executive presence, and agility to navigate with finesse across different cultures and nationalities.
• Experience from procurement, technical or operational role(s), preferably with demonstratable experience of devising and shaping fleet/category strategies.
• Exposure to CAPEX Procurement is a plus
• A decisive candidate who possesses a strategic focus as well as an operational, implementation perspective.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
