Project logistics is a specialized subset of the logistics industry that requires a fully integrated approach to the global orchestration of material flow, order management and shipment execution from multiple origins to a defined site location, including transportation of regular, out of gauge cargo (OOG) and other sensitive cargo across various transport modes (Ocean, Air and Land) with the goal to deliver in full, complete, on time and in the right sequence per the customer’s project plan and schedule.

At Maersk, our Project Logistics product teams combine traditional freight forwarding and transport capabilities with the highly specialized skills and competencies needed for complex project planning, transport engineering, procurement, and Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ) compliance. Our experts are skilled in project transport solution design, special cargo transportation, specialized transport asset management, and project management services, including detailed planning, orchestration, and sequencing of end-to-end shipments from suppliers to often remote and austere destination sites.

Responsibilities

• Project manage the implementation of Cargowise for MPL globally
• Complex stakeholder management to ensure all relevant stakeholders are involved or informed
• Stakeholder communication for both informing management and informing/consulting on changes
• Keep track of progress and outstanding tasks
• Find and onboard stakeholders to rollout plan and tasks
• Define timeline and rollout plan
• Design training plan and map out dependencies on other initiatives
• Create and maintain project documentation and overviews
• Discuss technical solutions and options with relevant teams and stakeholders
• Project manage the implementation of risk mitigations based on roadmap developed with Governance, Risk and Controls (GRC) and Business Controlling (BCO)
• Stakeholder management to ensure ownership of deliverables is clear, as well as keep track of deliverables’ progress and timelines
• Find permanent solutions with policy, process and/or platforms to guarantee risks are mitigated with future changes to the product
• Find temporary solutions where permanent solution cannot be implemented before Cargowise rollout
• Liaise with GRC and BCO to sign off risks, as well as align on solution/deliverables
• Collaborate with other products to find synergies and learnings from their risk mitigation journey
• Communicate and drive training in policy and process changes across the MPL organization, ensuring global standardization

• Ability to identify Customer (both internal and external) pain points using qualitative and quantitate data
• Proven Project Management capabilities
• Strong stakeholder management experience
• Stimulates creative ideas and perspectives that add value
• Ability to understand the complexity of Maersk business and the role of product as the core part of the business
• Strong communication skills to support new product idea to senior and executive leadership
• Experience with Finance or FINOPS processes are a bonus
