Senior data scientist - Real-world data (12 month maternity cover)

We are currently seeking a Real-World Data Scientist to support our Obesity portfolio for a 12-month maternity cover from September 1st, 2024, to August 31st, 2025.
The position
As a Senior Data Scientist - Real-World Data, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Apply state-of-the-art methods within statistical analysis, programming, and visualization to generate insights and knowledge from our large and diverse data sources.
  • Create user-friendly dashboards to present data-driven insights.
  • Participate in designing, planning, developing, and documenting studies to make informed decisions based on data.
  • Write, document, and maintain code in R and SQL to transform, standardize, and aggregate data from large amounts of raw data.
  • Evaluate the data quality of potential new data sets.

  • Qualifications
    To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
  • Experience with real world data (RWD), such as medical records or health insurance claims. (Not machine learning)
  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences (e.g., Biostatistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science) Phd or equivalent.
  • Skilled in managing, analysing, documenting, programming comprehensive data and expertise in classical statistical methods such as regression analyses and survival analyses (including competing risk).
  • Proficient with SQL, git, Linux, creating dashboards using R/Shiny or other software, project coordination and technical writing
  • Fluent communication in English, both orally and in writing
  • We believe you should have a strong programming skills and experience with transforming millions of rows of data by writing advanced, well-performing and maintainable code in R. You come from the pharmaceutical industry, or a consultancy environment and you quickly understand stakeholder needs and translate those into solutions and results through programming and analyses. You enjoy responsibility and complete your assignments proactively and within timelines.

    In Development, we are responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide from early development phases to product launch and beyond. We provide medical and scientific documentation for clinical submissions and authorities while ensuring that the process lives up to global standards, regulations, and business ethics. The department of Real-World Science is part of Data Science in Development, and has presence in Søborg (Denmark), London (UK), and Lexington, MA (USA). The department focus on insights and causal relationships from real world data (RWD) through advanced statistical methods. We analyse many different data sources to generate evidence to support clinical drug development projects and launched products.
