We offer

You will be joining a diverse team with significant experience and knowledge in compliance related work, executed in an international organization. The overall mission of the Compliance function is to identify, manage and mitigate compliance risks while providing advice and guidance to the business in compliance related areas. You will be running the day-to-day operation of KYC processes and Sanction Screenings, however since the team is responsible for Legal & Compliance in Energy Transition there will be possibilities to do cross function tasks. In addition, you will become part of an inter-group and cross-border network with focus on compliance related issues, which will ensure and enhance your capabilities within the Compliance field for international trading.

Key responsibilities

Your focus area and success criteria will be to ensure onboarding of counterparties, run the KYC process, perform Sanction Screenings and to advise and support the business with in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to KYC and Sanctions. Your responsibility areas will among others be:

  • Know-Your-Customer (KYC), hereunder screening counterparties for reputational risk and sanctions. Gather and supply information from/to third parties to ensure internal and external compliance.
  • Vessel clearance. Screening of vessels and advising on operational risk associated with supply of bunker fuel and cargo deliveries.
  • Assistance to Energy Transition Legal & Compliance. This especially in regards to Bio Fuels, Maersk Commit rules, internal controls and Group Internal Audit

You will take part in ensuring an effective training and awareness program for employees in Energy Transition regarding increasing knowledge and promoting a culture of compliance. Furthermore, you will participate in the development of the Compliance function.

Who are we looking for:

You are currently undergoing relevant education, i.e. a bachelor, or in the beginning of your master in law, international business, regulatory requirements or maritime shipping. You will undergo a substantial education in the job, so the right candidate would not necessarily need any prior professional experience in the field of regulatory compliance.

A strong candidate would:

  • Have a strong knowledge and understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in an international organization.
  • Be familiar with Compliance issues and challenges specific to oil trading.
  • Basic knowledge of the maritime sector.
  • Be fluent in English.
  • Be at ease with basic IT tools (MsOffice).

  • Good Communication / Negotiation Skills. Able to clearly and concisely communicate with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, in both oral and written forms. Able to cooperate with the Business while maintaining a Compliance culture. Able to debate and explain complex topics and principles. Comfortable working with cross-border teams
