Product Owner, Data Review Model in Data Science

The position As we have embarked on a transformation journey to build One Digital Data Flow for the clinical data domain, we need a PO for the team that focuses on building a common data review model that will be used across Development in [xxxxx]. As a Product Owner, you will ensure we focus on outcomes that make a difference for our users of clinical data. You will utilize your product thinking in translating business strategy into actionable product roadmaps and backlogs, balancing input from users, strategy, and developers, to build and operate a high-quality solution that is continuously improved to meet business needs. In your daily work, you will apply agile methods to ensure a flexible and incremental approach to product development. You are expected to shape the digital solution to support the overall organization and use creative thinking to identify how the organization and processes can be reshaped to better support the scalability and efficiency of developing digital products. We are starting a new team that will be developing a data review model that ensures we can deliver data products to our different consumer groups like RBQM, Safety and SDTM data generation in a format that satisfies their needs. The team will be part of our digital initiative DataCore, which is building a data repository for Development. The team will play a crucial role in defining the data infrastructure to deliver clinical data products to various use cases. Additionally, you will enable use of AI/ML tools, support new data modalities and risk-based business processes. The team’s efforts will be key in ensuring that the data review model aligns with the development-wide risk-based quality approach. You will therefore also have a strong tie into our Clinical Data Operations and Insights organization.
Key responsibilities:
  • Ensure that product discovery is done continuously and put the user perspective in the center

  • Analyse requirements and work closely with stakeholders and end-users to implement prioritized activities.

  • Maintain and prioritize the backlog for the team following the overall strategic prioritization set by the Product Manager

  • Drive risk and impact assessment of new requirements, including securing the right level of documentation.

  • Define and drive operational roll-out, support, and communication to end-users.

  • Challenge future needs and ways of working for clinical data across Development


  • Qualifications To be successful in this position, you probably have:
  • A master’s degree in mathematics, biology, health science, data, or the like and 3-5 years of experience within the clinical data domain

  • Strong domain knowledge of clinical data preferably with hands-on experience

  • Experience as a Product Owner (or similar role working closely with the development of digital solutions and customers)

  • A passion for building and scaling digital data products from problem discovery to realized benefits

  • Positive, solution-oriented mindset with an interest in process optimization and IT system development

  • A holistic approach with a flair for distinguishing needs and recognizing priority business requirements, and an eye for simplification

  • Proactive, structured, and strong desire to create real impact for the business

  • As a person you get energized from solving complex problems and navigating a cross-functional stakeholder landscape to ensure we create high-impact solutions. Besides, you need strong communication skills including the ability to communicate complex subjects in an easy and understandable way - and excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

    You will join the growing Data Science Strategic & Digital Development team. The department is anchored in Data Science (Development) with 1100 employees – across Denmark, Spain, India, and North America, delivering to the wide Novo Nordisk Development pipeline.
