Senior Cloud Architect for AWS

[xxxxx] is looking for a Senior cloud Architect for our AWS platform team to modernize our landing zone concept and take our AWS platform infrastructure to the next step. Let’s talk about the role
As a Senior Cloud Architect, you will play a leading role in driving our modernization and automation agenda across our cloud organisation. Together with a fellow Senior Cloud Architect you will have the overall responsibility for driving our efforts to modernise our landing zone set-up towards being merely purpose build and self-service enabled. You will also identify and assess areas and processes in our operational set-up equipped for improvements and apply your architectural expertise to ensure we continuously apply a modern, simple and user centric architecture.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Design and implement a purpose-built AWS landing zone to facilitate business delegation, management, and development, supporting the company's expansion initiatives

Establish a connected multicloud setup with modern cloud connectivity across all AWS regions, fostering seamless operations and integration

Develop and implement comprehensive monitoring solutions for all AWS services, ensuring clear insights for cost optimization and operational efficiency

Take ownership of the architectural and technical integrity of the platform and services, contributing to technical concept definition, solution maintenance, and operational activities within the AWS platform team

Collaborate with Product/SME Architects, the System Architect, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure architectural consistency and continual improvement of security posture for all AWS workloads. Additionally, provide guidance and support to team members and assist the AWS Cloud Product Owner in strategic decision-making

What we scout for

IT related education, at BSc level or higher, and/or several years of relevant professional experience working with cloud. You have minimum 3 years of experience working with cloud architecture in a large or global organization

Extensive experience with AWS and are preferably certified at associate og professional level

Experience with pipelines and repos in tools such as in Microsoft Azure DevOps and you know the concepts of Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)

Proven experience with Python and either PowerShell or TypeScript

Experience with IaC e.g.: ARM, CloudFormation, CDK or Terraform, and preferably from working within an Agile/SAFe/ framework

This role is based in the department Cloud & Corporate Infrastructure (C&CI), in Global IT Operations. C&CI comprises of twelve agile teams that work with cloud and corporate infrastructure (both development and operations). All teams are global and hold team members from US, Denmark, and India and work closely with numerous business stakeholders. Our purpose is to accelerate business transformation by taking leadership in operating, developing and delivering robust cloud technology platforms (AWS and Azure) and set the strategic direction for cloud. The position belongs with the AWS platform team of cloud developers, architects, and cloud engineers, responsible for architecting, developing, improving, and operating the AWS platform in [xxxxx]. The teams provide support to [xxxxx] departments and projects that host systems in production on AWS platform. Objective of the team is to understand and apply the newest cloud services and how they apply or create possibilities for [xxxxx], while being responsible for ensuring a stable and efficient operational set-up with automated deployment, test, and monitoring fit for any purpose.
